While I lean a little to the right of the political spectrum — I consider myself to be fairly close to the middle on most issues and somewhat libertarian on others.
If you’re a government official and you want to keep me happy just give me freedom, don’t waste taxpayers’ monies, and let everyone pursue his or her dreams with as little interference as possible.
I assume most people want the same things — we just have different ideas on how to achieve happiness for ourselves, our families, and our friends. I believe that most people are closer to each other politically and socially, than they are different.
Those who would divide and conquer us like to keep people separated and focused on their differences. If we focus on our commonalities, we’ll all be happier.
