Chicago Police officers in the Calumet District loaded into cars and hit their beat with a Christmas mission: give out toys to random kids.

Reports the Chicago Sun-Times:

Toy deliveries from Chicago Police happen all over the city this time of year. But this was different. Instead of arranged meetings at a hospital or a neighborhood party or the police station, these officers went out to surprise random kids with gifts.

The idea came out of the department’s Targeted Response Unit. The aim was to show kids that every encounter with a cop doesn’t have to be over something negative.

H/T: Second City Cop.
