Cell Phone Brought Down Reginald Potts in Nailah Franklin Case

Police investigators poked holes in Reginald Potts alibi by looking at his cell phone records, reports the Associated Press. Reginald Potts was charged with first degree murder in the death of Nailah Franklin.
A man who briefly dated a Chicago woman faces first-degree murder charges in her death after investigators found that his cell phone activity conflicted with his alibi, Chicago police officials said.
Reginald Potts Jr., 31, of Chicago, has been charged with first-degree murder, auto theft and robbery in the death of Nailah Franklin, 28, interim Police Superintendent Dana Starks said Saturday.
Before she disappeared, Franklin had complained to police that Potts had telephoned her making threats. …
“Mr. Potts tried to win sympathy, portraying himself as the real victim, but investigators were never swayed by his antics,” said Deputy Superintendent Hiram Grau.

I believe he is Innocent and that he didn’t kill her. I think Police are just lazy in finding out who the real killer is and just trying to run and pin it on the closest black man they can. This whole situation is really bullsh*t. The cops were paid off to build this case against him…. And whats with all this exboyfriend sh*t… May god rest her soul, but lets not forget she was still a h*e and they were only f**king friends they never dated! She’s the one who wanted more, not him; he was actually enjoying the single life.

Everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. We must not rush to judgment before all of the evidence is presented in the trial.
However, we must not forget that nobody deserves what happened to Nailah Franklin.
Reginald Potts’ supporters should focus on his positive aspects — the police and media are releasing reports about his background that don’t make him seem like the nicest guy — instead of saying that Nailah Franklin wanted more from Potts and that he wasn’t interested in a deeper relationship.
In the minds of many, bringing up the idea that Reginald Potts didn’t want Nailah Franklin around because he just wanted a casual sexual relationship and she wanted more provides a motive that explains something that otherwise defies explanation.
I know everyone is presumed innocent but he is in the process of being proved guilty. The contradicting alibi is excellent proof. If he is so innocent why did he lie about his where abouts. Also, If someone is not guilty they don’t get on the internet and write painfully long blogs about theire innocence. He is guilty, guilty, guilty and should be locked under the jail for what he has done to that innocent woman.

The contradicting alibi and cell phone records placing Reginald Potts in the area around the time Nailah Franklin died isn’t good news for his supporters.
Also, supporters posting emails and blaming Nailah Franklin doesn’t help Reginald Potts at all. It seems to provide a motive for what is alleged to have happened.
Pray that justice is done for Nailah Franklin.
This comment is aimed at the Miyah poster. Since you are referring to the angel in such a nasty tone, I only ask you to think about one thing. If she was all that you say she was and only a friend, it really doesn’t say much about the nasty Reginald Potts to be sleeping with her unprotected, does it? I don’t know about you, but I don’t sleep with any Jim or Jack unprotected especially if I think that their morals are low. There are other discussion boards where active blogging is going on that maybe you should check out. They will probably give you a slightly different opinion of the situation that the two were involved in before her death. Try Lipstick Alley or Topix.

The girl has passed on and in life, she was a blessing to many people. She was smart, beautiful and not to mention a successful black woman, a rare gift these days. Reggie was/is a habitual liar, a thief, a womanizer, an abuser, disloyal, and a possible overall sociopath. Whatever Nailah did in her personal time is not reason enough for her life to be taken. And as for the police being “lazy” , they got enough evidence to send this man up the road for life, get ya sh*t straight homegirl. I am not sure why Miyah would be so quick to judge Ms. Franklin (calling her a hoe?), but so slow to judge Mr. Potts. She sounds so certain in her statements — but what does she really know about either one of them (what he wanted, what she wanted, etc.)? And exactly WHAT makes Ms. Franklin a “hoe?” His denial of further desires on Ms. Franklin may just be a smokescreen — or does all that surveillance video of him lurking around mean nothing? A man with orders of protections from exes and multiple arrests certainly qualifies for a “where there’s smoke…” kind of suspicion! I am okay with respecting the men, but let’s not disrespect the women in the process! Murder is murder and even if she were promiscuous (and you know that HOW?), that’s doesn’t qualify her to be treated like garbage!!! Judge not…

If she had casual sex with him, enjoyed it, wanted more out of it and requested that he be a man and commit, does she deserve death?
