John McCain could soon announce a vice presidential pick. News reports say that John McCain’s VP list has about 20 names.

McCain, 71, said his search is in the “embryonic stage” but that he has a list of about 20 names and has talked to a couple of people about leading his vice presidential search team.

He would like to have his running mate set before the Republican convention in St. Paul, Minnesota, in early September that will nominate McCain as the party’s choice to face either Democrat or Hillary Clinton in the November election.

Brooke White sings Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” tonight.

Randy doesn’t think Brooke White‘s performance is stellar while Paula stresses Brooke White‘s emotional connection with the song.  Simon doesn’t like Brooke‘s performance saying the group looked odd and it was busker — meaning someone singing for coins near a subway.

Singing first is always a tough slot since it means Brooke White is more likely to end up being sent home if the other performers do well.
