Kevin Tracy writes about a rumor — maybe it is true, maybe it isn’t — that Ron Paul will back Mike Huckabee if he doesn’t do well on Super Duper Tuesday or subsequent primaries.

I got a phone call from a long time friend who happens to be a Ron Paul supporter who passed on a rather thought provoking and somewhat disturbing rumor. I want to stress that I have no confidence in this to call it anything but a rumor… a very strange rumor… but apparently if Ron Paul doesn’t do well on February 5th or any of the races that happen later that month, he’s going to drop out and endorse Mike Huckabee.

Is there a Ron Paul coup afoot in Indiana?

Ron Paul’s supporters detail a way to gain control of the Republican convention after the May primary by having their supporters apply to become GOP delegates, then voting to select Ron Paul as their presidential nominee at the state convention.

From the Northwest Indiana Ron Paul Meet Up site:

Patriots, handing Indiana off to Ron in May is soooo SIMPLE…

The Republican Party ALWAYS runs short of delegates for the state convention. All we have to do is show up and apply. We have to be elected of course, but if the congressional district has more seats than applicants, we win by default. Each congressional district is ‘winner takes all’. So we just need to have more delegates for Ron.

Even it’s just a single delegate more, he takes all of the delegates for that congressional district. THIS IS WITHIN OUR REACH!!!!
