Ramiele Malubay | I Should Have Known Better | American Idol

Ramiele Malubay gets the best American Idol position to score big — number 11 — as long as she can sing very well tonight she’ll have a huge advantage over the competition because people will remember her song and vote for her. Ramiele needs to focus on singing like Syesha Mercado did tonight and she’ll be sailing through to next week with little worries.
Ramiele picks an up tempo Beatles song: “I Should Have Known Better.”
She’s doing a good job singing tonight and looks at ease in front of the audience. Ramiele punches out a nice note in the middle of the song. I’m hoping that Ramiele Malubay goes all the way in this year’s American Idol competition.
Randy — “I wasn’t jumping up and down, but I enjoyed it. You showed confidence. … It was a happy go lucky thing.”
Paula — “There’s something about your voice when you sing ballots — you show your range.”
Simon — “It sounds like like Chikezie was on harmonica. … The track sounded terrible. You are in the same boat as many others. You chose mediocre songs. It was what it was.”

Ramiele Malubay | In My Life | American Idol 7

Ramiele Malubay talks about her job at the sushi restaurant, her family, her singing parents and her Filipino heritage.
Ramiele Malubay sings the Beatles’ “In My Life.” The crowd is waving their arms as Ramiele sings the song slowly. I’m enjoying it — “In My Life” is a great song. I’m thinking that the judges will wish that she picks a peppier song in the future, however.
Randy: “It was kind of pretty, but it was kind of boring.”
Randy: “You look really pretty. It was pretty safe and I want you to know that you are an amazing singer. Your voice allows you to go many places .. I think you’re holding back.” Randy wants her to let lose.
Simon: “I was bored to tears throughout the whole song.” “Dreary song choice. … It was forgettable. Boring. I expect a lot better from you.”
Writes Angela Henderson on the Herald-Dispatch’s Idol Chit-Chat of Ramiele Malubay’s performance:
Ramiele Malubay, “In My Life”: 15
Zzzzzzz…Oh, sorry. I went to sleep there for a few minutes. It was pretty, but wow it was boring. And Randy on the attack? Way to go, dawg! Because he’s right. She’s in trouble…
