Cedar Lake singer and cutie Amy Davis is one of 164 American Idol finalists who will be going to Los Angeles, reports the Northwest Indiana Times’ Philip Potempa.

Amy Davis, 25, of Cedar Lake, is now a part of FOX fame as one of the 164 Hollywood finalists introduced to the world Wednesday during the broadcast of “American Idol: Season 7.”

Amy Davis, a 2000 graduate of Lowell High School and one of the six children of Barry and Jeanette Davis of Cedar Lake, captured the attention of hard-to-please judging panel Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell, with her audition performance of “Blue Bayou.” The ballad was written by the late Roy Orbinson and made famous by singer Linda Ronstadt.

Tonight’s audition show featured some solid acts and some bad acts, but early on Amy Davis stole the show. Her low cut top got Simon’s attention right away and I don’t think he cared about her voice at all.
