Dawn Harper celebrates winning gold at the Beijing Olympics in the 100 meter hurdles.

“It hasn’t sunk in yet,” said Dawn Harper in a Chicago Tribune report.

“I have the medal and I’m holding it but it’s so surreal. It’s a blessing. It’s going to hit me maybe in the morning and I’m going to cry, thanking God.”

It’s great to see Dawn Harper — one of Illinois’ own — win a gold medal.
