The Democrats are pushing for passage of the economic stimulus package.

Despite GOP opposition, the Democrats are predicting the bill will pass and that they have 60 votes to defeat any filibuster, reports Reuters.

Some are calling the stimulus package pork-filled.

Writes Yael T. Abouhalkah in the Kansas City Star of the opposition to wasteful spending contained in the stimulus package:

Americans aren’t stupid, and that’s why a large majority oppose billions of dollars in wasteful spending larded into the current stimulus bills in Washington.
