Being in the top 20% of American earners isn’t necessarily a difficult thing to achieve with the right education and occupation, according to US News and World Reports.

In El Paso, Texas, a household earning $126,000 per year is in the top 20% of household incomes.  In Indianapolis, $170,000 puts a household into the top 20%.
