Lake Michigan Is The New Kennebunkport
Filed Under Barack Obama, Lake Michigan | 1 Comment
Shore Magazine’s election wrap-up email arrived in my inbox with an interesting tid-bit of information that bodes well for Lake Michigan communities in Southwest Michigan and possibly Northwest Indiana, if the presidential power-brokers discover Beverly Shores.
Democrats have been weekending and vacationing in second homes—usually known as cottages—along Red Arrow Highway for generations. … We (blue Southwestern Michigan) have been promoted to Kennebunkport.
The magazine’s email even notes that there is a rumor that Barack and Michelle Obama spent some time on Lake Michigan’s shore this summer.

Long Lines At The Polls
I went to my polling place this morning and spotted long lines of people waiting to vote — cars were lined up waiting to park, other cars were lining 109th Street in Crown Point and parking across the street at Southlake Stables.
The local paper indicates early voters were waiting in lines up to 5 hours long in Gary and 2 hours in Crown Point, so I suspect we’re going to see record voter turn out this election.
I’m going to swing by later in the morning after people have gone to work to see if the lines are shorter and cast my vote. Of course, if the lines remain long all day, make sure to get into line before 6 p.m. so that you’ll be admitted to vote after the polls close.
Don’t skip your chance to vote just because there are long lines.

Joe Biden (D-MBNA)
Filed Under Barack Obama, Election 2008, Joe Biden | Leave a Comment
Spotted on a Democratic message board “Why we call him Joe Biden (D-MBNA).”
If Joe Biden is elected VP tomorrow, maybe things won’t be so bad after all for certain segments of the business community.
After all, all of those rich people donating money to Barack Obama and Joe Biden aren’t doing so because they think they’re going to have their wealth confiscated and spread among the masses. After all, skilled politicians don’t bite the hands that feed their wealth and power.
It does mean that the Democratic voters who think they’re no longer going to have to pay credit card bills and mortgages if Barack Obama wins tomorrow are mistaken in their beliefs.
(Disclaimer — I have a financial interest in seeing MBNA and other credit card companies do well).
