Update: News agencies are reporting that the report of an attack against a McCain support is a hoax.

A John McCain volunteer was attacked and mutilated in Pittsburgh, according to news reports.  The victim told police that someone robbed her and carved a “B” into her face after noticing her McCain political bumper sticker.

Politics aside, it is time for people to stop the hate — no matter what side someone is on the political spectrum.  Everyone involved in the political system is fighting for America — we just have different ideas on the best way to make our country the best place it can be.

Let’s keep the political battle civil.

We can all disagree about all sorts of things, but let’s be friends after all is said and done.

Both John McCain’s and Barack Obama’s campaigns reached out to the victim.  Everyone in America needs to reach across the political spectrum to let each other know that people can disagree about politics and still be friends with each other.

This is a hoax and a desperate act by a supporter of McCain/Palin. Even the VP of Fox News had prepared a racially divisive course of action that was scheduled to be released before the woman confessed that this was NOT true.
Time for McCain to step up and reel in his emotional and sick supporters.
