The bar keeps going lower and lower
Filed Under Barack Obama | 4 Comments
Did anyone else notice that Barack Obama’s tax plan has changed. The bar has moved from from $250,000 to $200,000? It was right in Barack Obama’s half-hour commercial last night.
Will it end up being lowered even more to take into account the need to pay for proposed programs?
While $200,000 is still an income most American households have yet to reach, it isn’t inconceivable that a family with a husband and wife working in construction or other highly paid union trades could make that amount, especially with a good year and some overtime.

If you had the chance to run for president this year, would you want to be president considering all of the foreign and domestic challenges that face whoever is elected this year?
Is the next president doomed to fighting economic and foreign affairs fires the rest of his term?
Or, will the next president benefit from an upturn in the economy as the system corrects for past errors and mistakes?
Is national security still something to worry about?
Does the relative silence and concern about national security mean we’ve won significant security battles — some that haven’t been made public yet because we don’t want to tip our hand? Or, does it mean that we’re going to face significant international challenges soon, as Joe Biden suggests?
Considering all of the challenges facing the next president, if you were offered the chance to be the next president, would you step up to the plate, or would you pass for another time?

Update: News agencies are reporting that the report of an attack against a McCain support is a hoax.
A John McCain volunteer was attacked and mutilated in Pittsburgh, according to news reports. The victim told police that someone robbed her and carved a “B” into her face after noticing her McCain political bumper sticker.
Politics aside, it is time for people to stop the hate — no matter what side someone is on the political spectrum. Everyone involved in the political system is fighting for America — we just have different ideas on the best way to make our country the best place it can be.
Let’s keep the political battle civil.
We can all disagree about all sorts of things, but let’s be friends after all is said and done.
Both John McCain’s and Barack Obama’s campaigns reached out to the victim. Everyone in America needs to reach across the political spectrum to let each other know that people can disagree about politics and still be friends with each other.

We don’t think much of you either

A millionaire hedge fund manager retires at 37 and insults his clients calling them “idiots” for giving him a multimillion dollar salary.
Yo, hedge fund boy. Remember the tax rate was up to 75% back in the good old days before tax reform in the 1980s. You could be getting yours pretty soon.
All of your money could be soon going to fund some hired trucks, a bridge to nowhere, friends of those in power and their family members, or some pilot project to study something or other in some legislator’s state who voted the right way for some appropriations bill.
Note to the next president, please keep my taxes low. It’s all of those other people who deserve to have all of their wealth spread around — hopefully from them to me.
