Page Rank Update
Filed Under blogging, Google, Northwest Indiana Blogs, PageRank
I noticed that my Google Toolbar PageRank has increased a point to 4/10.
Matt Cutts suggests checking your Google toolbar PageRank values as Google has been updating PageRank over the weekend.
Here are some quick PageRanks for local Northwest Indiana blogs:
Blue County in a Red State is 3/10.
Jerry Davich is 4/10.
Kevin Tracy is 5/10.
Porter County Politics is 4/10.
Prayeramedic is 3/10.
South Shore Progressive is 4/10.
If you spot a Northwest Indiana blog with a 6/10 or higher as you surf around, let me know as that’s starting to get into noteworthy PageRank values.

So close… Maybe next time I’ll hit 6/10
At one point I had a 5 on my real estate blog, but it’s now back down to a 4. I got the biggest boost when I was posting quite a bit on blog aggregate site activerain.
This is one of the reasons I think that the aggregate idea over at 219.com might help us all get a boost
Hi Kevin,
It’s all exponential, so it will be interesting to see who gets to 6/10 first! NWI.com is only at 5/10 and Post-Trib is 6/10.
Hi Steve,
What we also need to do is work on “link bait” items — things that people will find are so interesting that they’ll link to them and let all of their friends know.
The key is figuring out something like that has broad appeal, but is unique enough that it hasn’t been covered sufficiently elsewhere.
I’m looking forward to seeing how 219.com shapes up — it could be a great thing for Northwest Indiana.
Hi Steve,
Don’t worry about PageRank — it goes up and down all the time. I had a blogspot blog back in 2005 that I deleted — never do that — that had worked its way up to 5/10 just by my comments on other people’s sites. That was before nofollow kicked in and took away a lot of that link mojo.
