Just when it seemed that flying couldn’t get any worse that it already is in these days of delays, bankrupt airlines, sardine seating and the threat of being stuck on a tarmac without food or water for hours and hours — not to mention lost luggage — comes news that the TSA has been “feeling up” passengers, including old men and young women.

This latest news makes me even less inclined to want to fly on commercial airlines.

Video: Have TSA screenings crossed the line?

I’m all for security checkpoints — I go through metal detectors all the time — but security efforts need to be reasonable and logical. It would seem that a metal detector wand could determine if someone has a metal body part, rather than “feeling” a person all over their body in public.

My son and daughter are military and both have high security clearance. Even so, and even traveling on orders to defend this country, they are asked to remove their uniforms (INCLUDING dog tags) or be subjected to the ‘wanding’. My son WILL NOT remove his dog tags, they are there to identify him if he is dead–not to profile and humiliate him while he is in the service of this country. It happened in Philadelphia just yesterday as his block leave ended and he headed back to the war. My heart goes out to ALL the Americans who are profiled and subjected to this invasive procedures. We all have to take off hats and body parts. I wonder if foreigners have to remove their full burkas? I think its time for a class action lawsuit for profiling Americans. A PROUD MOM WHO IS TIRED OF HAVING HER KIDS PROFILED !!

      Hi Peggy,

I hope one of these days, the government and airlines will figure out a screening system that makes sense, instead of spending a lot of time, money and energy scrutinizing people who don’t necessarily need to be subjected to all of the extra screenings (especially soldiers serving the country).
