An Ohio woman sends an email to Perez Hilton that could be considered disparaging to certain protected classes in certain jurisdictions.

She gets fired after the email becomes public because employers usually don’t like their employees to send out emails that disparage people while on the job from their work computers.

Next, the Ohio woman gets a lawyer and files suit for $25 million because she was fired for the backlash after sending an email to PerezHilton.com because she thought she’d have some sort of expectation of privacy in sending a derogatory email to someone who makes a living publishing all sorts of information.

Discuss the merits of this case amongst yourself, class.

Do lawsuits like these bring esteem to the legal profession?  Or, are will this case be viewed in the same light as the $67 million Washington, D.C. pants lawsuit.

Does the Fed. Rules of Civil Procedure Rule 11 equivalent apply here?  Or, are there merits to this case?
