Gina Gershon and Bill Clinton?

Bill Clinton lashed out at a Vanity Fair reporter yesterday after the magazine published an article detailing concerns about the former president’s behavior since leaving the White House.
Here’s an example from Todd S. Purdum’s report that has gotten Bill Clinton so steamed — an unsourced rumor that Bill Clinton has been friendly with Gina Gershon and other women:
Over the last few years, aides have winced at repeated tabloid reports about Clinton’s episodic friendship and occasional dinners out with Belinda Stronach, a twice-divorced billionaire auto-parts heiress and member of the Canadian Parliament 20 years his junior, or at more recent high-end Hollywood dinner-party gossip that Clinton has been seen visiting with the actress Gina Gershon in California. There has been talk of a female friend in Chappaqua, a woman in a bar at a meeting of the Aspen Institute, and a public sighting of Clinton, Bing, and a ravishing entourage in a New York elevator that, a former Clinton aide told me, led a business leader who saw them to say: I don’t know what the guy was doing, but it was so clear that it was just no good.
Bill Clinton didn’t hold back in responding to the Vanity Fair article, reports Editor and Publisher:
“[He's] sleazy,” he said referring to Purdum. “He’s a really dishonest reporter…. There’s just five or six blatant lies in there. But he’s a real slimy guy.
When Fowler reminded him that Purdum was married to his former press spokeswoman, DeeDee Myers, Clinton said, “That’s all right– he’s still a scumbag. Let me tell ya– he’s one of the guys — he’s one of the guys that brought out all those lies about Whitewater to Kenneth Starr. He’s just a dishonest guy– can’t help it….
“You know he didn’t use a single name, cite a single source in all those things he said. It’s just slimy. It’s part of the national media’s attempt to nail Hillary for Obama. It’s the most biased press coverage in history. It’s another way of helping Obama. They had all these people standing up in this church cheering, calling Hillary a white racist, and he [Obama] didn’t do anything about it. The first day he said ‘Ah, ah, ah well.’ Because that’s what they do– he gets other people to slime her.
“So then they saw the movie they thought this is a great ad for John McCain– maybe I better quit the church. It’s all politics. It’s all about the bias of the media for Obama. Don’t think anything about it.”
“But I’m telling ya, all it’s doing is driving her supporters further and further away– because they know exactly what it is– this has been the most rigged coverage in modern history…”

Gina Gershon also strikes me as being crazy hot — it might be because of her movies. I think Showgirls seared that image of her into my mind.
I can see why Bill Clinton would want talk about his global initiative charity and presidential library with her.
