Chitika Offers CPM Graphic Ads
Filed Under blogging | 3 Comments
I received an email from Chitika that makes me excited:
We have seen that on some sites, CPM Graphic ads (which pay you for impressions) perform much better than CPC ads (which pay you for clicks). Based on your current account activity, and the recent merchant-side smart pricing on CPC’s, we believe that you will generate more revenue by using these CPM Graphic ads.
Starting tomorrow, we are incorporating these new CPM Graphic ads into your eMiniMalls, MPUs, and RPUs, and we will be showing these CPM ads when we cannot use our new behavioral targeting to show Chitika|Premium ads. The results of our new behavioral targeting have been fantastic, with many publishers seeing huge jumps in eCPM.
I’ve noticed a difference in my Chitika earnings since I added the premium ads — they only display when Chitika determines someone might be inclined to click on the ads — as opposed to the classic mini-mall units which I haven’t been displaying because they weren’t performing well on this blog. (They do well on product-oriented blogs). Having the CPM option that pays for every thousand impressions is a very nice addition to the Chitika ad program and might could make them a very valuable service to use on your blog — depending on what the CPM rates end up being.
