Simon admits that after taking a second look at last night’s show, he sees that the singing competition wasn’t as lopsided as it might have seemed last night. Simon says that he doesn’t care who wins because both singers — David Cook and David Archuleta — are both talented.
The world-record breaking votes for the next American Idol have been counted and the winner by 12 million votes is David Cook, announces Ryan Seacreast.
What a shocker after all the build up in favor of David Archuleta last night — the judges had virtually given David Archuleta the title last night. But, isn’t it a nifty twist — the underdog comes back for the big win after seemingly being knocked down and out of the American Idol competition.
Amazing results, but not so unexpected since David Cook has done a great job and has grown so much throughout the American Idol Season 7 contest.

Chris, thanks a ton for the American Idol coverage. I have enjoyed reading all your posts. My oldest son watched it and said that both Davids were good, and will probably make a ton of money singing.
I had to go to the Sox game with more kids and had to watch three homeruns in the 6th vault the Sox to a great win. It was a sacrifice.
What now? Have you chosen another big topic to match the American Idol theme?
Chris,
Thanks for all the posts on American Idol. Cook deserved to win, it kind of sank in for me watching all the top ten last night. Both Davids were clearly better than the others.
aa David Cook deserves to win
Hi Steve,
Thanks! It’s been fun following American Idol this season. My search engine visitors always spiked on Idol nights, so it was positive reinforcement to keep on plugging away.
I’m going to have to find a new topic — I’m not what it will be just yet.
Anything entertainment oriented is usually pretty good — the key is to post a lot about the topic so that Google figures out that your blog is focusing on that particular topic and will start showing search results on the first page for keywords related to that subject.
The Olympics will be big — the great thing about the games is that there will be a bunch of people who aren’t that well known, except in their various circles so people will be searching for information.
Hi Shereeda,
Thanks for stopping by! I think David Cook was a fine choice as well.
