The Good Old Days Weren’t Necessarily Better
May 10th, 2008While we’re thinking back to the good old days — it seems like we could be blasting back to the 1970s economically if we aren’t careful — lets take a ride back in time to see what it was like for people living in the 1950s when the world was dominated not by random violence perpetrated by individuals and shadowy cells bent on wiping out the infidels but by nation states armed with nuclear weapons ready to launch at a seconds’ notice.
Despite all of the complaining we all like to do, we’re a lot better off today than we were even 20 years ago.

Mr. Hedges,
In regard to your book on some of the atheists, I have some questions for you. To start:
Have you read and referenced System of Nature by Baron d’Holbach?
Have you read and referenced The Fable of Christ by Luigi Cascioli?
Have you read and referenced the autobiography of Ethan Allen?
Have you witnessed children in mosques being told that Jews (descendants of Sarah and Abraham) acted immorally against Hagar when she was ordered to leave and go into the desert with her son?
After you answer these I may have some more for you.
Thank you in advance,
Byron Marchant

Hi Byron,
You’ve found Christopher Hedges’ blog, but not the particular person you are looking for — Chris Hedges, the author of “I Don’t Believe in Atheists.”
But, thanks for stopping by and raising the questions since they are interesting and thoughtful, even if I can’t provide the answers you are looking for.
