I’m with you Chris, bring on the free services in return for watching or listening to advertising. Isn’t it interesting that television may well go full circle?
In the beginning, TV was free
Then we had to pay for cable

You might be walking by a storefront with your new iGoogle phone and the TV Ad starts playing an ad for your favorite restaurant, and your favorite meal happens to be displayed in the image — oh and by the way, the restaurant is right around the corner. It would be a whole new world… .

That’s the beauty of Google’s plan. It will create a network that will be perfect to distribute their ads. People will use it because it is free. Businesses will buy ads because that’s where the people are. And, Google (and its publishers) will get rich or try.
