Poll shows Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton In Statistical Tie

Brian Montopoli writes for CBS that the Indiana horse race between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton is getting tighter and could be too close to call at this point.

Depending on what happens in the April 22nd Pennsylvania primary, May 6th – the day that voters in North Carolina and Indiana go to the polls – could be a pivotal day in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination.

There has been little polling out of Indiana in this election cycle, but yesterday brought new numbers showing Hillary Clinton with a three-point lead over Barack Obama in the state. That makes the WSBT-Tribune poll too close to call, since the margin of error is 5 percentage points. The poll found that most Indiana voters have made up their minds. Clinton leads among whites and women; Obama among blacks and men.

Public Opinion Changes Quickly.  Will Clinton’s $109.2 Million Earnings Sway Their Base?

It’s amazing how the conventional wisdom of just a couple of days can be dashed against the rocks as the tides of public opinion ebb and flow for and against the two Democratic presidential hopefuls. There was a poll not too long ago that showed Hillary Clinton was in the lead — 52% to 43%.

My gut feeling is that Hillary Clinton will get help from crossover Republicans in Indiana who are operating under the “Operation Chaos” plan devised by Rush Limbaugh. Poll challengers will have a hard time if someone says they are looking to make a change and voted for Democrats in the last election and plan to do so in the future. How can anyone verify how anyone voted or will vote in the general election?

But, don’t count out Obama, even with the chaos voters. Word that Hillary and Bill Clinton have made $109.2 million since 2000 makes them seem like rich evil Gordon Geckos — there might be way too much money separating them from their base.  The Clinton’s $109 million seems like rich evil CEO money when the working man and woman only earn a tiny fraction and can only dream of winning the lottery to ever be able to have those types of riches.  An average Indiana household making $50,000 per year would have to work over 2,000 years to make Clintonian money!

Chaos Surrounds the Clintons

Plus, the Clintons seem to be causing problems and inspiring meltdowns in the Democratic party — that’s no way to win friends and influence people.

Isn’t it great that Indiana is still in play and the horse race between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama is still neck and neck!
