Kankakee Co. wants Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich to approve money for construction of the Illiana Expressway near the Will and Kankakee county lines, according to the Daily Journal.
Gov. Rod Blagojevich is pushing Illinois Works, his $25 billion construction plan, and he has enlisted the bi-partisan help of retired U.S. House Speaker Dennis Hastert, a Republican, and Southern Illinois University President and former U.S. Rep. Glenn Poshard, a Democrat, to help drum up support. Hastert and Poshard will be traveling the state to find out what Illinois communities want to see in a capital bill.
Kankakee County already has its wish list in order, according Mike Van Mill, president and CEO of the Economic Alliance. It includes: …
