Michael Johns loves the Beatles because he says they are the best band.

Michael Johns sings the Beatles’ “A Day in the Life.” It’s a little rough — especially around the “House of Lords” verse, but he’s hitting the major parts — but it’s not fully coming together. I wish he had sung the song a little better because “A Day in the Life” is one of my favorite Beatles’ songs.

Randy — “It wasn’t one of your best performances.” It wasn’t the right Beatles song for Michael Johns. He has the voice, but needs the right song.

Paula — “I don’t know if it is because you are using monitors in your ears. You lose a connection with the audience. It’s a balance. It’s a big stage.”

Simon — “It was a mess. It was. It was. You didn’t hit the right notes. The song went all over the place. It doesn’t work in a minute and a half. … You’ve got to nail the song like David before you.”
