Filed Under American Idol, Amy Davis
Amy Davis says she slowed down “Me and Bobby McGee” to make it more her style.
Amy wasn’t confident and wondered how they were going to pick her for American Idol. “It’s like hundreds of Christmases,” being on American Idol.
Amy Davis sings “Where the boys are.”
Randy says: “I didn’t think it was great.” “There was a lot of pitch problems there.”
Paula says: “The camera loves you.” “I feel the nerves got a little bit of you.” “I felt like it was a little lackluster.”
Simon says: “It was what it was.” Boring song. “Incredibly cabaret.” “I don’t think it was you at all.” Simon says Amy is going to struggle after her performance.

No one can improve upon or match the million selling version by the great Connie Francis. However, I don’t think Amy’s version was as bad as the judges rated it. It could have had more life.
Hi Shrinksjp,
I hope Amy Davis gets another shot and isn’t judged to harshly by the callers because of the judge’s comments.
Of course, she has an advantage of looking beautiful as Paula said. That might get her enough votes to stay on for a while longer.
I hope so too. She simply handled the song wrong and if Randy was implying that the song was a Patsy Cline song, of which I am not sure that he was, he is completely wrong. It is a Connie Francis song and it is not country, as he seemed to imply as well. So, I think the criticism of Amy was too harsh and misleading.
I thought her voice was great. The song was great.I loved how the organ started out.It got to me right from the start, melting my heart.I thought it was the best performance of the night. But she was not completely relaxed. It maybe sounded a little forced probably because of all the pressure. She did the best she could.
She’s an angel in the devils world. Be careful Amy!!!
Hi Robert,
The stress of performing on American Idol probably threw Amy Davis off on her performance night.
One good thing is that she has gotten a lot of exposure and can use it to propel herself into a recording contract.
I and my family thought amy did a wonderful job with the song where the boys are. She simply was judged way to harshly. for such a hard song to sing we think she did a heck of a job and took a lot of guts to sing it too. She got some great exposure, and i think America made a really wrong choice.
Hi Denise,
Thanks for stopping by.
I know we will be seeing great things from Amy Davis in the future.
