My prayers are with everyone at NIU.

I was listening to the Roe Conn Show on Valentines Day when the news of the shootings at Northern Illinois University was breaking. I remember listening in horror while updates were coming in from the scene. Everyone at my office who heard about the tragedy was in shock.

The sadness hits home because I travel close to NIU for work when I go to Geneva, Illinois and know acquaintances who attended university there. I was reminded yesterday when I saw the NIU exit sign at the Woodstock exit on I-90.

May we figure out a way to get people help before they snap.

May we figure out a way to protect innocent people from those who would do them harm.

It wasn’t the way that Valentines Day is be on a college campus or anywhere else.

My prayers are with everyone at NIU.
