Some kinda wonderful gal—I Am 61 and have traveled the world, I thought I had seen it all!! Glad to know some special stuff is still out there!!!
Way different and exciting style along with the personality===and the talent of course!!!

Amanda can sing, lets not forget that small fact. I would like to here her sing solo, without so many background instramentals. Not everything in the world is sanitized, lilly white, or in a box right folks.

Is this chick hot or what!! I’m fifty six, was born in Lafayette, Indiana (Amanda’s neighboring town) and have read several books on Janis Joplin and had her albums. I swear Amanda’s Janis Joplin reincarnated. She has the soul, the voice and the ATTITUDE. I know she thinks much of the contest is silly, but she has the chance to win and needs to play the game! If she doesn’t sing Joplin, I’ll freak. She sang Joplin during the try outs, but doesn’t seem to want to now! SHE NEEDS TO SING JOPLIN, as it would be a sure thing for her! She would knock “Cry Baby” out of the park, and it would satisfy the judges who want her to do a ballad! Hopefully they’ll be done with the Beatles crap this week, yawn…

i am SO bummed that America voted her off…honestly, she is an unbelieveable talent and she IS Janis Joplin reincarnated!!! The rest of the contestants on that show have nothing on her…in fact, I think she’s the best out of all seasons. It’s such a shame that people like Brittany Spears can be millionaires and someone like Amanda Overmeyer is still “hoping” to be picked up…I’m sure that she’ll get a record deal. And I’ll be the first in line to buy her CD!

    Hi Amanda,

I’m betting that Amanda Overmyer gets a nice contract with some record label after all is done.

  10. Candace on March 20th, 2008 4:51 pm

I’m really bummed, also! She certainly didn’t deserve to be voted off this week. Just goes to show the average voting base is teeny bops. Guess my 20 votes for her didn’t make a difference. And, I hope she does get that record deal and I agree she’s the best of all seasons. I don’t even care who wins now. She just picked the wrong friggin’ song. She did great on the first Beatles tune, but this week it was too much rock, and maybe the USSR component didn’t help, either. The bitch of it is, I think she was just getting into it and starting to play the game. Wah,wah, wah! ):

    Hi Candance,

The good thing is that she did make it into the Top 11 — she did a lot better than thousands of others. Not a bad feat considering the odds.

I’m sure Amanda Overmyer will do well for herself and I bet we’ll hear more from her in the future.

Funny thing is, I was born (Lafayette, In) near her home town and would give anything to hear her in person. She seemed out of her element on Idol, but if she’d made it one more week she would have been able to tour with them. Maybe they’ll bring her back. What happened to when they used to bring some back who didn’t make the cuts etc. They haven’t done that this year. Maybe Amanda needs a few swigs of whiskey, like Janis did, to relax, eh?

  13. Chris on March 21st, 2008 12:23 pm

    Candace,

I bet Amanda will be around because she seemed pretty popular with people and was able to survive all of the cuts until the Top 10. If she doesn’t get an American Idol contract, I bet you’ll see her all around Indiana (and elsewhere) since now is the time for her to take advantage of all the publicity she has gotten while on the show.

Dude, she got voted out over Kristey Lee Cook, who did horrible. I don’t get what America didn’t like about her, she rocked American Idol, and she was, what Simon said, a breath of fresh air. She put some fun into the show, it just isn’t the same without her, I’m pulling for Carly now.(They were roomates)

  15. Chris on April 2nd, 2008 7:34 pm

    Hi Rocker Chick,

It’s too bad Amanda is out. I bet we’ll see her around, however.
