Global Warming Alert for Saturday evening.
Polar air invading the Chicago area Saturday night will plunge temperatures into the -1°F range and cause wind gusts of up to 40 MPH, reports the National Weather Service in Chicago.
BITTERLY COLD TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY MORNING. NORTHWEST WINDS GUSTING AT TIMES TO 40 MPH WILL SEND WIND CHILLS PLUMMETING TO 20 TO 35 DEGREES BELOW ZERO. THE STRONG WINDS COULD ALSO LEAD TO SOME BLOWING SNOW IN OPEN AREAS.
