Crown Point attorney Tony Zirkle — who is running for nomination to be the Republican’s candidate in Congressional District 2 which includes some eastern portions of Porter County — is reaching out to Democrats by advising them it is safe for them to vote for him based on his economic issue positions.

If you have voted democratic before and you do not agree with everything it is promoting, you are invited to vote for me in the primary. If you vote democrat based on economics, jobs or health care, you can safely vote for me in the primary.

It’s too bad that the Democrats don’t allow pro-life candidates in their party anymore.

Too bad for Tony they can’t vote for him in the primary since Indiana has a closed primary.

      What a dumb move.

      Hi Josh,

      Great observation.

I don’t think he really wants to win anything, from what I’ve read on his campaign site.

There are many social conservatives in the democratic party that feel they can’t vote Republican because they are worried about their jobs and health care, issues for which the Republicans need to address.

      Hi Tony,

      Thanks for stopping by, Tony.

I hope we’re able to figure out a solution to the health care crisis without having the government take it over and run it like they do with other social services, i.e. long lines like they have at the Calumet Trustees’ office or endless forms and applications along with months and years waiting times for processing a la Immigration.

It’s too bad the social conservatives in the Democrats aren’t able to take back their party. I remember back in the 1980s when Democrats weren’t so far to the left as they are these days and weren’t captured by Move On and NARAL.
