I65 north bound at 61st Avenue February 1, 2008

I-65 north at 61st Avenue is jammed because of snow and road work at the Borman Expressway

While central Indiana was spared the worst of the global warming storm, things must be pretty bad in Chicago and Northwest Indiana. I can’t get Emergency Closings to load!

Chicago traffic hot spots Feb 1, 2008 snow storm aftermath

Everyone checking to see if their kids’ schools are closed must have melted down the servers over there.

Luckily, Crown Point has its announcement on its page: School’s out today!

Looking at the traffic pages, every expressway is jammed solid as I write this. Traffic.com shows jam factors of 8 to 9 and WLS AM said Veterans’ Memorial has a 2 hour drive time and advised staying home!

Look for a little more snow this morning, according to the National Weather Service:

Periods of snow with areas of blowing snow, mainly before noon. High near 29. North northwest wind between 10 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

    Hi Free-zing:

It’d be great to be at a tropical school right now. But, I can’t complain. I always enjoy how things slow down and it gets nice and quiet when it’s snowing all day!
