From NWIblogs:
Everyone loves to discuss politics in the blogosphere and Northwest Indiana is no different.
Northwest Indiana blogger Kevin Tracy is blogging for Mike Huckabee over at his eponymous blog.
I know I have a rather large readership in Northwest Indiana, so to everyone out there who reads this, I’m organizing my first Huckabee Meetup in the region on February 9th.

Gary SWAT Arrests Dad of Baby Josiah in Shooting Case
Filed Under Gary, Gary Indiana, Gary Police, Josiah Shaw, Kwana Shaw, Terry Bethel, Terry Noel, crime, urban peril | 1 Comment
Gary Police say that baby Josiah Shaw’s father is a person of interest in the case of his killing during a carjacking that left his mother — Kwana Shaw — on life support after a bullet ripped through her lung, reports Lori Caldwell for the Post-Tribune.
Kwana Shaw is in critical condition from a single gunshot wound that destroyed her lung.
Her 13-month-old son is dead, shot twice — in the face and groin — by a carjacker who left the woman’s car a few blocks from the abduction, Lt. Del Stout said Tuesday.
Police believe the child’s father may have left his job at ArcelorMittal’s Burns Harbor plant Monday night to meet Shaw, 29, of Schererville, about 7 p.m. at a friend’s house in the Lancaster Homes complex, 21st and Virginia.
Terry Bethel, also known as Terry Noel, 34, was arrested by Portage police and members of the Gary SWAT team shortly before midnight Monday at his Portage home. Police called him a “person of interest” in the shooting.

NOW Blasts Kennedy For Obama Endorsement
Filed Under Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Democratic Party, Election 2008, Hillary Clinton, NOW, Ted Kennedy | 2 Comments
The New York state chapter of the National Organization for Women blasts Ted Kennedy for not supporting Hillary Clinton and instead backing Barack Obama, reports James Taranto in the Wall Street Journal.
(T)he New York state chapter of the political fringe group National Organization for Women put out a statement yesterday blasting Ted Kennedy for endorsing Obama:
Women have just experienced the ultimate betrayal. Senator Kennedy’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton’s opponent in the Democratic presidential primary campaign has really hit women hard. . . .
And now the greatest betrayal! We are repaid with his abandonment! He’s picked the new guy over us. He’s joined the list of progressive white men who can’t or won’t handle the prospect of a woman president who is Hillary Clinton (they will of course say they support a woman president, just not “this” one). “They” are Howard Dean and Jim Dean (Yup! That’s Howard’s brother) who run DFA (that’s the group and list from the Dean campaign that we women helped start and grow). “They” are Alternet, Progressive Democrats of America, democrats.com, Kucinich lovers and all the other groups that take women’s money, say they’ll do feminist and women’s rights issues one of these days, and conveniently forget to mention women and children when they talk about poverty or human needs or America’s future.
