I’m consolidating my Indiana issues blogs — Region Life and Illiana Expressway — into this blog to make it easier by having everything all in one location and not requiring readers to look for information in three different places.

If something strange happens to the blog, it may be my consolidation efforts going awry!

What about the fact that multiple blogs was giving your more presence out there in blogland? Do you think your total traffic will go down? I’m curious since I’ve been trying to maintain way too many sites myself.

      Hi Steve,

I’m keeping the old posts where there are since they’re already getting traffic via search engines and links.

I’m not worried about having some duplicate posts since Google will make its decision about which ones to list in its directory and they are both on the same server.

If I was going to pull the plug on the subdirectory and delete everything, I would set up a 301 redirect so that traffic came the new site, but since I’m just going to leave everything “as is” that’s not necessary. I also left my Blogger items on my server in their same structure — I still get a lot of traffic for those posts.

I don’t think traffic will go down — it should increase as I add new content to the single blog since it is all political or Indiana oriented.

I just noticed your comment on the tax question .. I’ll get an answer in a few moments!
