Gary, Indiana a/k/a Northwest Indiana is 39th in the nation for finding jobs, according to Forbes Magazine.

We’re better than Chicago!

Writes Jerry Davich:

So if you’re looking for a job this year in this region (and who isn’t these days, even if it’s for a little moonlighting money), Gary is your best bet, according to Forbes, an even better bet than Chicago, which ranked lower on the list.

OK, to be fair, Gary’s 39th ranking, up from previous years’ rankings, includes four NWI counties, not only the city of Gary.

   I think I’ll use your headline and post instead of Jerry’s. No one will want to move to NWI if they think they’re going to be close to Gary. Sorry but it’s the truth.

   Hi Steve,

   It’s a shame that Gary has fallen so far since its glory days.

   I hope Gary is able to come back sometime within our lifetimes because it is perfectly located to take advantage of all of the opportunities Chicago provides.
