Thoughts On Obama’s Win
Filed Under Barack Obama, Election 2008
I’m happy with the results of the Iowa Democratic caucus.
Barack Obama came out on top with pretty-boy Edwards a/k/a “the street fighter” (yeah, right) coming in second and Hillary Clinton ending up in what is in effect last place with her third place finish.
Iowa’s Democrats chose the candidate who genuinely believes in his positions and rejected candidates who “triangulate.” Being real paid off for Obama.
Hillary Clinton’s claims of vast amounts of foreign policy experience after only working in the Senate for a few years and wanting to bring change to the White House by returning to the 1990s ring false.
John Edwards is a rich guy with a huge house who doesn’t want to riff-raff in his neighborhood and who wants to start a class war against the rich for his political gain. It’s just a ploy or a bad case of self-loathing.
That’s a good sign for the health of our political system that the Iowa Democrats went for Obama.
While I have always voted Republican since moving into Northwest Indiana and don’t plan on changing because I can’t support the Democrats’ litmus test issue, I’m glad to see someone from Chicago and a representative of the Midwest do well.
