The last two posts on this blog have nutshell quotes that sum up definitions of the two major belief systems — liberal and conservative — that drive most of the political action in the American system.

Do our politicians — on all levels — generally live up to their ideals?

Or, do they succumb to the temptations that come along with great power and end up becoming corrupt?

If your answer is that politicians will tend to become corrupt as they gain power, what do you suggest to prevent such a problem?
