Here’s some of the fun that can be had playing with the various web traffic sources that abound on the internet.

Want to know who is reading our local papers online? Quantcast has the scoop for the Times‘ and Post-Tribune‘s websites.

I find both to be pretty poor. The Post is a terrible site, always running about 3 years behind on technology. The Times, albeit more up to date, has never really given up on the bulletin board format, time to push all the way to blog format.

    Hi Steve,

I agree about the Post-Tribune’s site. It needs to be updated to bring it up to modern standards. They have a link to a RSS feed page, but the link comes back on a 404 error page. Also, the site sometimes isn’t updated as quickly as the Times’.

The Times’ does a good job keeping their page updated and I enjoy the local videos and breaking news, so that’s a plus in their favor.

You are right about the bulletin board being something that adds very little to the community since it is very insular. It is also prone to be abusive — but that is the nature of bulletin boards.
