Chelsea’s Paradox

Chelsea Clinton’s on the campaign trail hoping to gather support for her mom.
Unfortunately, Hillary Clinton and her people won’t let her speak — even to a 9-year-old reporter hoping to get a quote.
Writes the AP’s Beth Fouhy:
“I’m sorry, I don’t talk to the press and that applies to you, unfortunately. Even though I think you’re cute,” Chelsea told the pint-sized journalist.
Such is the paradox of Chelsea as she campaigns across Iowa in the closing days before the state’s caucuses Jan. 3. …
(O)nstage, Chelsea never speaks; she stands next to her mother and applauds but utters not a single sentence and doesn’t even say hello. And reporters covering the campaign have been put on notice that Chelsea is not available to speak to them. An aide follows the former first daughter as she works the crowd, shushing reporters who approach her and try to ask any questions.
It’s too bad that Hillary Clinton is so controlling that she won’t even let Chelsea say “hello.”

I ran my preferences through the SelectSmart.com 2008 Presidential candidate selector to see which candidate would fit my theoretical ideal candidate.
Here are the results:

It’s an interesting way to figure out which candidates fits one’s political viewpoints.
In this case, it seems like the Presidential candidate selector has done a pretty decent job of selecting the candidates I’d be most comfortable with voting for during the primary and the general election. From the results above, it looks like I should be checking into John McCain, Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson since they score high for political compatibility and are the most viable candidates on the list.
The one interesting item is seeing Stephen Colbert coming in 7th place on my list.
