I bought a Hoosier Lotto ticket after reading that it hadn’t hit since sometime in October 2006 because I thought I might get lucky.
Of course, even though the odds of getting hit by lightning are better than winning the lottery, people keep on playing for that slim hope of becoming a multimillionaire. Knowing this, I still paid a voluntary $1 tax to get a chance at maybe winning the Hoosier Lotto.
Someone who bought a Hoosier Lotto ticket in East Chicago is $54.5 million richer, reports the Indianapolis Star.
“It’s a really good morning for the Hoosier Lottery because we finally found our winner of the $54.5 million Hoosier Lotto jackpot,” said Kathryn A. Densborn, executive director of the Hoosier Lottery.
“This is exciting,” she added. “We don’t know where the winner is, just where it was sold,” she explained.
The ticket was sold at the Mobil Columbus service station at 2220 E. Columbus Drive in East Chicago. “The Mobil will receive $100,000 for selling the winning ticket , so I am sure this is a good day for them as well,” Densborn said.
